TVP HD with broadcasting license

National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has granted a new satellite license for TVP HD just before Olympic Games in Beijing. From the 6th of August, two days before the official opening of the Olympics, Polish Television will start transmssion of this most important sporting event in the last 4 years. For the first time TVP will cover Olympics on its 5 channels (TVP1, TVP2, TVP Sport, TVP Info and TVP HD).

TVP HD should be available 18 hours a day. It will appear in Aster and Multimedia cable networks and in one of the digital satellite platforms on Hot Bird 13E, probably in Polish n television. TVP HD feed is on Astra 19.2E at frequency 10,773H (SR 22000, FEC 5/6), but this signal will be encoded in NDS-VideoGuard.

TVP HD will be also available in free version from several test DVB-T transmitters in: Cracow, Warsaw, Srem, Sucha Gora, Zagan Wichow and Zielona Gora Jemiolow.

Swedish DVB-T HD receivers with HDMI output are already in sale, in the price of 499 PLN. Soon the price should be changed to 399 PLN.
